Piano Moving
During construction, pianos are designed with moving in mind. Each type of piano has a different ideal methodology when it comes to making a move. Our professional TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Movers are specifically trained to move all types of pianos and have the specialty equipment to protect and move your piano safely and securely. Most people when attempting to move their piano themselves using friends and relatives, try to manhandle the piano, sometimes using the brute force of four to eight people. Most people don't realize until they have their piano half way down a stair case, a typical piano can weigh between 600 to 1400 lbs. If professional moving equipment and techniques aren't employed, there is a good chance the piano, walls, floor and banister will be severely damaged by the heavy point loads that can occur when the centre of gravity shifts. Not to mention the danger of severe injury an inexperienced volunteer piano Mover might sustain. Inexperienced Movers don't realize a piano can create a point load on a floor of more than 1,000 pounds/square inch which can easily break ceramic flooring, rip vinyl or carpet flooring. A piano could potentially damage light weight stair cases and gouge hardwood flooring if it's rolled on its casters.
